“She said she’d rather give us our privacy. She was as wound up and worried as I was just plain worried. I’m still glad she’s gone, but I’ll always wonder if counseling would have changed anything. There aren’t many things worse than waiting for something that you’re scared to death of. I did my best to prepare for the worst. I just needed to say thank you for that.
